How to Practice High Holiday Self Care

The holiday season is one of our favorite times of year here at SoStonedCo, but it can definitely be a time of mixed emotions, even more so due to the crazy year we are having.

It is essential to take some time for yourself to find calm, gratitude, mindfulness, and a little extra pampering and self-care!

Follow these steps to take some time for yourself before the new year for some holiday zen!

1. Set The Right Vibe

Cleaning isn't the most relaxing, but it is a great way to make your living space feel fresh and allows you to mentally and physically unwind. We recommend cleaning your space before diving into the relaxation practice to set the tone. Check out our Tips on Tackling Your Chore List article for some great ways to make cleaning more fun!

Setting the tone can also be about creating a vibe. For us, that means Christmas lights and music, paired with a nice festive candle and our coziest onesies! Check out our High For The Holidays Playlist for some great festive tunes!

Creating an environment that you feel at peace in is a game-changer when it comes to mental health and self-care.

2. Have a Gratitude and Reflection Sesh

The year is winding down, and what a year it has been! As we are preparing to journey into the new year spend some time reflecting on the year and what you are grateful for.

Pick your favorite creative strain (We love Super Silver Haze) and get cozy. Think about the past year and reflect on moments that made your year better. Spend time focusing on each of these moments. Think about how these moments made you feel. Feel the positivity and warmth from these moments surround you. After you feel satisfied take a few moments to journal about how you feel.

It is also important to reflect on what you have learned over this year, and how you will use those learnings to grow and accomplish even more in the next year. These can be very personal and can be anything depending on who you are and how you feel. Surround yourself with love and set an intention for what's to come!

Practicing gratitude and taking time to reflect is beneficial to your mental health, they improve self-esteem and are excellent practices to ground and balance ourselves.

3. Get Canna-Creative this Season

Trying something new can be great for mental self-care!

Whether it is trying a new infused holiday recipe, a new cannabis-workout class, or just having a great craft session at home, getting creative is a great way to stimulate your mind and practice some self-care.

The big thing to remember here is just having fun. Pick something that you know you are interested in trying, and know that learning is a process, and just go with the flow.

This can also be a great way to spend time with loved ones. Set up a virtual bestie blaze sesh where you all have a new adventure together. Put on some tunes, blaze up and enjoy!

4. Decompress from Social Media

It is easy to get glued to our phones and computers these days! Take some time away from social media and enjoy some mindful downtime!

The holidays are a wonderful time to watch warm and nostalgic favorites! We recommend revisiting some of your top seasonal films! This is a great way to get some R&R and spread happy holiday vibes!

It is also a great time to learn something that stimulates your brain! Check out a podcast or read a new book you have been wanting to dive into!

4. Pamper Yourself

Spend a little extra time giving yourself some love and attention. Whether it is doing an at-home spa day, treating yourself to a holiday mani-pedi, doing some self-massage, or some of your other favorite indulgent treats.

Happy High Holidays!

No matter what you end up doing for the holiday season remember to be mindful and to take some time for yourself!

A very happy and healthy holiday from the SoStonedCo family to you and yours!
